Last update: 07/12/2009

West Tolgus Residents Association has been formed in response to a notification of intent to build a housing estate of between 46 and 70 houses on a Greenfield site at Higher West Tolgus.

As residents of the West Tolgus area, we feel that the proposed development is not at all in keeping with the existing character of the area and loss of a valuable Greenfield site, diverse wild habitats and ancient Cornish hedges, is not acceptable.

MEETING - 17th DECEMBER - 6:00 PM Illogan Village Hall
This meeting is with the developers, Council Planning Officers and Councillors
This is an excellent chance for us to show the strength of feeling against this development

where is the proposed site?

whats happening?

It is likely that a planning application will be submitted before the end of 2009. This application will be for an initial phase of 15 properties and will prepare access to a another field for the larger, second phase of development.

what can I do?

Get in touch with us
Write to your councillor with your concerns

Write to the leader of Cornwall Council
We must speak up RIGHT NOW - the planning process is heavily weighted in favour of the developers. The only way we can counter this is to make our objections clearly known to the council and council members.

what happens next?

We are talking to the Trelawney Alliance and local councillors. We are also in contact with the Planning department for all advice possible. We will keep you informed but in the meantime encourage anyone in objection to WRITE NOW to council members.
