Fantastic turnout to Parish Meeting

It was standing room only on Thursday's (25th) Parish Council meeting. The meeting was reported by the West Briton and George Eustice MP was in attendance. The chairman and secretary of WTRA spoke to put across key points to the councillors, and those residents who wished to speak were all given the chance to by chairman, Cllr Bickford.

Councillors listened closely to all the residents concerns. Representatives of First Step Homes Ltd were also present and in the correct procedure, they spoke their peice. The speaking representative attempted to address residents concerns but simply gave the impression of repeating the contents of the documents attached to the application. It was a less than adequate response on behalf of the developers and many statements were met with jeers of derision. They showed a lack of understanding about the true nature of objections and lack of concern for the safety of all residents, existing and proposed.

Councillors had a brief discussion about the order of importance to be key objections:
Sustainability, Access and Contamination

And then confirmed the unanimous vote to object to the development

The room erupted in the biggest cheer of the meeting.

Everyone who attended the meeting did a fantastic job, pulling together like that - we stand the best chance to defeat this application.
